Q: How does the Contact work with stereo
speakers?
A: PERFECT! The Contacts have been tested by a major stereo installer in Denver
with
EXCELLENT RESULTS!
Q: Can Contacts be used with Courtesy Lights
mounted in the door?
A: No, when the door is opened power to the accessory is lost.
Q: Does one of the buttons need to be used for a
ground?
A: On a steel car it's up to the individual; ground has a path through the hinge. On a
glass car, yes, one button is needed for ground.
Q: How many AMPS
will the Contacts carry?
A: The Contact has been tested up to 60 AMPS.
Q: Do the Contacts need to be mounted in the
pinch point (hinged side) of the door?
A: No, they mount anywhere on the door frame.
Q: Will The W.I.D.E. Contact work with a
remote door opener?
A: YES!
Q: Will water or moisture effect The W.I.D.E. Contact?
A: No. Tested for over 9 years in all
kinds of weather, mounted in the worst place to have Contacts on a car, we have had NO FAILURES!
Q: Will the Contact corrode?
A: The Contacts are made of the finest brass available, over a period of time they will
corrode slightly (like ALL metals will), but the way the Contacts are designed they ARE SELF-CLEANING!
Q: Why use brass? Why not stainless steel?
A: Brass is a MUCH BETTER
CONDUCTOR with a resistance factor almost
7 TIMES LESS!
Q: How big of a hole will have to be drilled in
the doorjamb and door?
A: The largest hole would be 1/2" x 2 5/16", the smallest is a 1/2" round
hole.
Q: Do the Contacts come in different sizes
(number of buttons)?
A: YES, The W.I.D.E. Contact
comes in five sizes.
Q: Why is The W.I.D.E. Contact packaged in
single sets (per door)?
A: In most cases, the need for the same number of Contacts on both doors is rare. Why buy what you don't need?
